INSECURITY: Is Buhari seeking to disregard parliamentary invitations?
Debate has erupted in Nigeria after some indications that President Muhammadu Buhari is unlikely to honor the invitation of the House of Representatives to address the security crisis. President Buhari is expected to appear before parliament on Thursday, following an invitation extended to him last week, following the slaughter of sheep by Boko Haram militants in Zabarmari village in Borno State. The presidency initially said it had accepted the invitation, but later the Nigerian justice minister said parliament had no jurisdiction to invite him. Opinions are divided among Nigerians after they realized that President Buhari could return the invitation to the country's parliamentarians on the security crisis in the country.
